Earlier this year, ProWorks was contacted by the MN Department of Human Services. They wanted to determine whether our services provided the people we serve access and interaction with their community. It goes without saying, when one receives communication from the Department, it is not usually a cause for celebration. Anyway, the visit went very well. Two amazing representatives of the Department came out. I pulled our site managers and administrative personnel in, and we had a very meaningful discussion about community involvement.
Their follow-up report stated that we were in compliance with the Department’s expectations of community involvement. Then, we were asked to participate in the production of a video highlighting providers “who are doing creative and excellent work to deliver personalized services.” They were particularly impressed by our Again & Again Too Thrift Store in Litchfield. Our thrift store is a licensed program site, and we have it set up as a work/training site; many of our people work at our Again & Again Too Thrift Store.
On June 2nd, a videographer visited our store. He interviewed our store managers, Karen Gebhardt and Rachel Degen, and then he talked with a couple of workers, Kim and Daryl. I was interviewed as well. He also wanted to give viewers a glimpse of our community – Litchfield, MN. He was going to take some drone videos.
I do not know when or how this video will be shared, but I will share that information when I know. We at ProWorks appreciate and honor this recognition of our work.

This beautiful girl recently visited ProWorks. Diamond is a three-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier. She is certified through Therapy Dogs International and loves volunteering her time – she especially enjoys visiting toddlers. Diamond came to ProWorks with her good friend and owner, Maureen Murray. This visit was Diamond’s first visit to ProWorks, and she was an immediate hit. Diamond will come back to visit every month. She also visits libraries and nursing homes. Diamond always wants to meet new people – you may “like” her Facebook page
